Surface Pro 5 Firmware Updates

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Pro 5. The following updates are available for all Surface Pro (Model 1796 & Model 1807) devices running Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803 or later:

The new firmware update will resolve the battery consumption issue associated with Windows 10 October update (version 1809). The update is listed as an “October 5 release” on the Surface Pro 5 Update History page.

10.25.0.10 resolves the battery consumption issue associated with Windows 10 October update (version 1809).

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:
  • On Windows 11, go to Start > Settings (Win + I) > Windows Update and click the "Check for updates" button.
  • On Windows 10, go to Start > Settings > Update & security and click the "Check for updates" button.
If your Surface Pro 5 didn't receive the update, it should appear on the Windows Update list by now.
